July 3 - July 7
Wednesday, July 3
4-5:30pm Wildlife Wednesday – Visit the Nature Center to see the wild animals that live at Tappan Lake. Learn about Ohio’s amazing creatures!
6-8pm Traveling Nature Program – Watch for our program staff traveling through the camp areas with nature questions and information about weekend programs!
7-8:30pm Ladies’ Night Craft and Desserts – Grab a friend for a fun girl’s night at the lake! All materials and instructions provided, plus snacks! Registration required at www.MWCD.org/tickets
Thursday, July 4 Happy Independence Day
9-10am Guided Nature Hike – Meet near the gaga ball pit to take a guided nature hike along Pine Tree Trail! Be prepared for natural surface trails by wearing hiking shoes or sneakers and bringing water.
11am-12pm Nature Center Open – Explore the Nature Center and learn about Ohio’s mushrooms.
1-2pm Water Games at the Beach – Bring your friends to play fun water games at the beach!
6-7pm Patriotic Wreath Craft for Adults – Create a decorative wreath for your camper or home! Meet at the Nature Center.
9-11pm Movie at the Lake – Bring your blankets and camp chairs to the beach to watch the movie on the BIG screen! The movie is rated PG-13 and will start at dusk. You can also watch from your golf cart or car. Please park vehicles towards the back. Pop and chips are available to purchase for $1each.
Friday, July 5
10-11am Animal Charades – Meet at the patio behind the Activity Center to do your best to act out your favorite animals and see who can guess correctly! Prizes for participants. For all ages!
11:30am Bike Decorating – Meet near the Camp Area 4 flags to decorate your bike before the parade or you can bring your own decorations from home!
12pm Bike Parade – Feature your decorated bike in the parade. Meet near Camp Area 4 flags. Prizes for top bike in each age group! Parents must accompany children ages 7 and under.
1-2pm Knotty Hour: Granny Square Project – Learn how to crochet an easy granny square to use in a variety of projects including our community blanket project! Meet in the Nature Center.
3-4pm Tie Dye T-shirts – Make a colorful and unique creation in the grass near Activity Center Shelter! T-shirts are available for purchase, cash only. Shirts are $10 each. First come, first served.
5-6pm Rocket Craft for Kids – Meet at the Nature Center to make a rocket craft for the holiday! No explosives will be used 😊
7pm LIVE Music: Tony Rio and Relentless Band – Bring your chair or golf cart to the beach to listen to live music until the fireworks show!
DUSK Fireworks Over the Lake – Enjoy fireworks over the lake! Can be seen from land and water.
Saturday, July 6
9-10am Breakfast with the Birds – Watch the birds outside the windows and learn about Ohio’s birds, while enjoying free coffee and breakfast snacks at the Nature Center! While supplies last.
11am-12pm Nature Center Open & All About Wildflowers – Visit the Nature Center to learn about Ohio’s flowers and make a fun craft!
2-4pm Teen Club: Movie & Popcorn – Hang out at the Activity Center to watch “National Treasure” and enjoy free popcorn! For ages 12-18.
5-6pm Kids BINGO – Try your luck at BINGO at the Activity Center. Bring a full-size candy bar.
6-7pm Adult BINGO – Meet in the Activity Center and try your luck. Bring a $2 gift.
8pm Tappan Golf Cart Parade – Decorate your golf cart and line up at 7:30pm at the beach.
