Atwood Tree Giveaway & Earth Day Clean-up

Friday, April 19
5:30pm Introduction to Geocaching – Meet at the small amphitheater to learn about this outdoor activity and learn how to get started, then find a hidden treasure together!
6:30-8pm Campfire Building & Cooking Class – Discover how to build a fire safely and then make your own dinner and dessert over the campfire! Meet at the small amphitheater with your own campchair.
Saturday, April 20
11am-1pm Earth Day Clean-up – Stop by the Welcome Center for gloves and trash bags, then pick-up map for areas for litter throughout the park & lake! Bring the bags back and receive a coupon for a FREE night of daily camping!
11am-1pm Tree Giveaway – Do you have a spot for a tree?! Stop by the Welcome Center to pick up free saplings! Red oak, white oak, and white pine saplings will be available on a first come, first served basis. Planting and species information will also be available at the time of pick-up. Ready to be taken home and planted!! Sponsored by the MWCD Conservation Department.
2-3pm Tree Craft for Kids – Learn about Ohio’s trees and make a craft to take home! Meet at the Activity Center Shelter.
4-5pm Ornament Craft for Adults – Meet at the Activity Center Shelter to make an Atwood keepsake ornament!
6-7:30pm Evening Guided Hike – Discover the history of Atwood Lake and search for signs of spring along the Cemetery Bay Trail. Meet at the small amphitheater and be prepared for a 2-mile hike by wearing hiking boots or sneakers and bringing a water bottle.
