Pleasant Hill Bird Nerd Weekend

Saturday, May 4
9-10am Pancake Breakfast with the Birds – Enjoy pancakes and more at the Welcome Center while watching the birds at our observation window! Suggested donation is $5 per person. While supplies last.
10-11am Traveling Golf Cart – Watch for our traveling program staff with information about 2024 events!
11am-12pm LIVE Bird Show – Join Ohio Bird Sanctuary to learn about their animal ambassadors at the Welcome Center! Children must be accompanied by an adult.
12-2pm Birding Wagon Tour – Take a tour around Pleasant Hill Lake Park to see the osprey nest platforms and the variety of birds that live at the lake. Space is limited, registration is required online at https://mwcd.ticketleap.com.
3-4:30pm Bluebird Box Workshop – Discover the wonderful world of Eastern bluebirds, then make a bluebird box to place in your yard. $15 per bluebird box kit, one kit per family. Register online at https://mwcd.ticketleap.com.
5-6pm What’s That Bird? Birding 101 – Meet in the Welcome Center to use the bird feeding station and presentation to learn about bird ID and birdfeeding tips for beginners and people who want to learn more!

9-10am Morning Bird Hike – Meet at Picnic Shelter #2 to take a walk and search for birds that call Pleasant Hill Lake their home. Be prepared for natural surfaces by wearing sneakers or hiking shoes.
11am-1pm Nature Center Open & Bird Beaks – Explore the Nature Center and learn about upcoming programs! Plus discover bird beak adaptations and what makes each one special.
