Charles Mill Labor Day Weekend

Friday, August 30           

6-7:30pm      Traveling Craft for Kids – Keep a look out for program staff traveling through the campsites passing out a fun kids’ craft kit, and selling glow items!

7:30-8:30pm  Family BINGO – Bring a $2 prize in a bag and join in the fun at the Messerly Recreation Center!

8:30-9:30pm  Family Game Time – Play “What I would do for a Klondike bar?” at the Messerly Center. For all ages!

 

Saturday, August 31                               

10-11am       Pancake Breakfast – Enjoy pancakes, eggs, coffee, fruit, and donuts at the Messerly Recreation Center. Kids must be accompanied by an adult. $5 suggested donation.       

11:30am       Flower Arrangement Craft for Adults – Make a beautiful bouquet in a vase at the Messerly Recreation Center. All instruction and materials provided. $8 each, register online at www.MWCD.org/tickets

12:30-2pm    Traveling Craft and Nature Activity – Look for program staff traveling around the park and learn about animal tracks and grab a craft kit for kids!

1-4pm          Poker Paddle – Paddle around the lake to collect poker chips to compete for the best poker hand! Rent a boat or bring your own! Includes gate fee. Registration required at www.MWCD.org/tickets

2-3pm          Cornhole Tournament for Adults – The tournament will take place in Main Camp by the shuffleboard courts. The cost is $5 per team of two and registration starts at 2pm. First and second-place teams will receive a prize.

3 pm            Water Games – Meet near the Eagle Point pool to have some fun with water. For ages 6-12.

3:15-5:30pm  Football Fun – Take in the college football game with friends and snacks at the Messerly Recreation Center.

4-4:30pm      Traveling Pup Snacks – The program staff and Gator will be driving around the campground to pass out doggie treats to all four-legged friends in Main Camp.

4–5pm          Cornhole for Kids – Kids ages 7-14 are invited to the Eagle Point Shelter Area to play cornhole! Prizes will be given to first and second-place winners.

7-9pm          LIVE Music at the Marina – Relax at the lake with live music at Charles Mill Marina.

 

Sunday, September 1

10:15am       Non-denominational Church Service  – All are welcome to participate in this church service at Messerly Recreation Center.

11:30am-1pm Craft Time for Adults – Prepare for the holidays by making a Halloween and Christmas craft at the Messerly Recreation Center.

2-3pm          T-shirt Tie Dye – Tie-dye a shirt at Eagle Point near the shelter. Sizes are first come, first served. $10 each, cash only.

3:30-4pm      Bubble Fun – Do you love bubbles? Head to the Eagle Point Shelter Area to blow as many bubbles as you can. For ages 4-12.

3:30-4pm      Golf Cart Poker Run – Meet at the Messerly Recreation Center for the last poker run of the year! Prizes for the top two hands. $5 cash per hand, cash only.

4-5pm          Photo Scavenger Hunt – Head to Eagle Point Shelter Area for directions on how to play this photo scavenger hunt. For all ages!

7–8pm Build Your Own Sundae – Come to the Messerly Recreation Center to turn ice cream, granola, toppings, candy, whipped cream, and more into your customized sundae. Suggested donations is $2.
