Pleasant Hill Eagle and Osprey Weekend

Friday, June 28 Eagle and Osprey Weekend
5-7pm Nature Center Open – Stop by the Nature Center to learn about Bald Eagles and Osprey.
6-8pm Traveling Program Golf Cart – Watch for the traveling program golf cart with weekend schedules and trail maps.
Saturday, June 29
9:30-10:30am Coffee with the Chief – Meet the Chief Ranger for the Muskingum Watershed Conservatory District. Stop by the Welcome Center to meet Chief PJ Brockmeier, say hello, ask a question, or make a suggestion, plus enjoy coffee and donuts (while supplies last).
10-11am Nature Center Open – Stop by the Nature Center to learn about Bald Eagles and Osprey.
12-1pm Owl Pellets – Owls swallow their food whole and rely on their gizzard to separate out what cannot be digested. We will dig through replica owl pellets to discover what’s inside. Children need to be supervised by an adult.
2-3pm Birding Wagon Ride – Take a tour around Pleasant Hill Lake Park to see the Osprey nest platforms and the other birds of the lake. Space is limited, registration is required for this free event at https://mwcd.ticketleap.com
4-5pm Paper Plate Bird Craft – Did you know a paper plate can be transformed into an owl, robin, seagull, and many other birds? If you bring your creativity to the Welcome Center, we will have the art supplies ready. Children need to be supervised by an adult.
6-7pm Osprey Nest Listen and Learn – Take a seat in the Welcome Center to learn more about the Osprey nesting platforms. The brief presentation will be followed by a short walk to get a closer look at the Osprey Nesting Platforms.
8-9pm Campfire & Karaoke – If you love singing along to the Eagles, the Black Crowes, or The O’Jays, come on over to the campfire ring by the Welcome Center. We will provide the blazing fire and karaoke machine. You are encouraged to bring your phone loaded with the music from bands named after birds and a comfortable camp chair.
