Tappan “Soup”er Bowl Weekend
February 10
11am-1pm Winter Hike & Soup – Explore the hiking trails at Tappan Lake our annual Winter Hike! Stop by the Activity Center to pick up a map with suggested routes to hike on your own or join MWCD staff for a guided group hike along the Deer Trail. Guided hike will leave the Activity Center promptly at 11:15am. Warm up in the Activity Center with soups, coffee, and hot chocolate between 11am and 1pm. Be prepared for natural surface hiking trails with moderate to steep inclines by wearing hiking shoes/boots, bringing a bottle of water. In case of snow or ice, the guided group hike may take place on the Beach Trail.
2-3pm What’s that Bird? Birding 101 – Meet in the Nature Center to use the bird feeding station and presentation to learn about bird ID and birdfeeding tips for beginners and people who want to learn more!
4-5pm Knotty Hour Kick-off – NEW PROGRAM for 2024! Bring your current crochet, knit, embroidery, or other craft project and enjoy social time! Plus, learn from others and share patterns. Staff will be on hand to help beginners and share the ideas for this program. Bring your own camp chair for more comfortable seating. Program is sponsored by Pindrop Shop in Uhrichsville, OH.
6-7:30pm Ladies’ Night Craft & Desserts – Grab a friend and head out to Tappan Lake Park for a fun girl’s night! Paint a winter landscape! All materials and instructions will be provided, plus snacks. Must be 16 or older. Registration required at https://mwcd.ticketleap.com
