  • OSPREY LIVE NEST-CAM

    About Osprey:

Unique among North American raptors for its diet of live fish and ability to dive into water to catch them, Ospreys are common sights soaring over shorelines, patrolling waterways, and standing on their huge stick nests, white heads gleaming. These large, rangy hawks do well around humans and have rebounded in numbers following the ban on the pesticide DDT. Hunting Ospreys are a picture of concentration, diving with feet outstretched and yellow eyes sighting straight along their talons.
The Osprey readily builds its nest on manmade structures, such as telephone poles, channel markers, duck blinds, and nest platforms designed especially for it. Such platforms have become an important tool in reestablishing Ospreys in areas where they had disappeared. Ospreys require nest sites in open surroundings for easy approach, with a wide, sturdy base and safety from ground predators (such as raccoons). Usually, the male finds the site before the female arrives.

    CANCELLATION POLICY
For cancellations or changes to your reservation, please contact Pleasant Hill Lake Park directly at 419-938-7884 or [email protected].
The Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (MWCD) may grant refunds to paying guests in the form of a credit to the guest’s credit card, check, or guest credit for future use. Such refunds will be issued and documented in accordance with accounting practices authorized by the Finance Group.
The MWCD desires to maintain a guest-friendly refund policy. The goal in keeping the guest satisfied is to facilitate return visits and positive word-of-mouth promotion. For online reservations, the reservation fee is non-refundable and is forfeited in all situations. In lieu of a refund, the date and location for online reservations may be changed on a one-time basis at no charge; any additional changes will be subject to a $10 service fee per transaction. No refunds due to weather, ‘no shows’ (arrivals after midnight), or 14 days after departure date.

REFUNDS for campsite reservations will be as follows:
If cancellation is made more than thirty (30) days before the reservation, the guest will receive a full refund less reservation fee back on their credit card.
If cancellation is between thirty (30) days and four (4) days, the guest will forfeit $10.00 from the first night’s stay and the balance will be refunded less reservation fee on their credit card.
If cancellation is less than four (4) days prior to the reservation, the guest will forfeit the equivalent of one (1) night’s stay, less reservation fee, and the balance will be credited back to their credit card.
A monthly camping permit is defined as thirty (30) consecutive nights. Because the fee for a monthly camping permit is substantially discounted from the daily rate, if a guest stays less than thirty (30) consecutive days, refunds will not be pro-rated but instead will be based on the daily rate for actual nights stayed.
