About the Credits Program

The Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District’s maintenance assessment was established to protect and enhance the works of the District, and to support conservation efforts throughout the watershed. In an effort to recognize the efforts of individuals in conservation, watershed stewardship, education and implementation of best management practices, an assessment credits program was developed, giving landowners the opportunity to reduce their annual assessment.

Any property owner with an assessment greater that $6 per year can apply for potential credits by completing the application, accessed by link below, and submitting it to our office for administrative review. Most questions about the program will be answered by reviewing the presentation or reading the FAQ developed by MWCD staff, also linked below. As with the maintenance assessment, staff members are available to answer questions by phone or by email using the contact information at the bottom of the page.
